PHARMACOLOGY AND PHYSIOLOGY are scientific fields directed towards
understanding the molecular, cellular and organ systems that are important
to life itself and their alteration by the actions of exogenous agents. Our understanding of these systems is the essential basis for
rational clinical diagnosis, treatment of disease, and our knowledge of how
drugs and toxic agents exert their effects in humans.
