Welcome to the Graduate Program of the Department of Pharmacology
and Physiology
The Pharmacology and Physiology Department is dedicated to understanding the
functioning of the body at molecular, cellular, and organ system levels and to
applying this knowledge to alleviate human suffering and disease. With the Human
Genome Project largely complete, we are at the brink of an era of unprecedented
breakthroughs in physiology and therapeutics.
The department is strongly committed to graduate student training that combines
excellence in education with top quality research. Students accepted to our full-time
doctoral training program will receive full stipend and tuition support. We invite
you to join us for a career in the biomedical sciences at this exciting time!
Degree Programs awarded by the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology
Ph.D. Program
The program leading to the PhD requires both coursework and laboratory research
which is written up as a thesis. Students can pursue the degree either full-time
or part-time, although only full-time students are eligible for stipend support
and tuition remission.
